Nine in 10 healthcare organizations still using fax machines

Thirty-nine percent using pagers


A new survey finds that eighty-nine percent of healthcare organizations are still using fax machines and thirty-nine percent are using pagers, according to an article on the Fierce Healthcare website.

Also, healthcare organizations rely heavily on landline phones to communicate, according to a new report by TigerConnect, a healthcare communication platform.

The report was based on an online survey conducted of almost 200 respondents, including physicians, nurses and ancillary providers, C-suite executives, information technology professionals, administrative staff and others.

In fact, one study showed that communication inefficiencies cost a single 500-bed hospital more than $4 million annually.
