A nurse at the Royal Sussex County Hospital recently described how a patient, 85, dies after being dies after she was accidentally given cleaning liquid to drink, according to an article on the Mirror website.
"There was a little bottle of summer fruits squash and a little beaker on the table so I put in some squash. I only put a little bit of water from the green jug," the nurse said.
After 15 minutes of being given her medication, the woman started coughing. Another nurse went to give her some water from the same jug when she saw the liquid was yellow.
She went to the cleaning cupboard to see what was inside the jug and saw that the liquid was yellow and smelled of lemons.
