Four hospitals in Karachi, Pakistan, are setting up disaster management wards, equipping facilities for an approaching cyclone, according to an article on the Pakistan Observer website.
The management has set up a 100-bed disaster management ward at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital with similar wards of 20 beds in Landhi Medical Complex, Sobhraj Maternity Hospital, Gazdarabad Maternity & General Hospital and Sarfaraz Rafiquee Shaheed Hospital and the KIHD. The facilities were also prepared for backup cover.
Rain emergency centers were also set up in all the districts and the central rain emergency center was established in the Civic Centre, which will work on round the clock, the article said.
