A former nurse says that Sheridan (Mich.) Community Hospital was so lacked supplies that nursing staff went to Dollar General to make purchases, according to an article on the Becker's Hospital Review website.
The nurse said patient care suffered due to a "toxic environment that permeates the hospital."
The nurse said staff were disrespected, intimidated and overworked and the hospital did not have enough supplies, "nursing staff has gone to the Dollar General store," and surgeries have been delayed because of a lack of supplies.
An ongoing investigation of the facility previously found supplies running low in a storage closet.
