The Internet of Things (IoT) holds the potential of revolutionizing healthcare by improving access and lowering costs, according to an article on the Economic Times website.

The IoT could allow rural clinics to afford previously unavailable medical devices or help health tracking for the chronically ill.

The latter possibility is already seen in the many fitness trackers As technology improves,  fitness trackers may become ‘health trackers.' 

And with the wealth of data IoT-enabled healthcare devices can provide, data from millions of users may spur work on new medicines.
