A hospital trust has been taken to court over allegedly breaching a health and safety law at one of its hospitals, according to an article on The Blackpool Gazette website.

The case focuses on a worker at Blackpool Victoria Hospital who broke his arm in two places at the hospital’s laundry department. According to the suit, a hospital employee was trying to clear a blockage in the dirty linen conveyor when the accident happened in December of 2009, the article said.

Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is accused of not discharging its duty by failing to ensure measures were taken to prevent access to dangerous parts of the dirty linen conveyor, before any part of a person entered into the danger zone, according to the article.
