White paper examines soft-surface decontamination

Aesthetically appealing soft surfaces pose a practical challenge to infection control in healthcare settings

A new white paper by the University of Louisville, "Soft Surfaces and Healthcare: Opportunities for Infection Prevention," is available for free download.

According to the report, soft surfaces, while aesthetically appealing, pose a practical challenge to infection control in healthcare settings. They are often used by patients, visitors, nurses, physicians and other staff and are therefore at high risk for contamination with pathogens.

In the paper, Dr. Curran and Dr. Wiemken from the University of Louisville examined potential options for soft surface decontamination.
