Wyoming healthcare facility bracing for eclipse fans

Hospital preparing by shuffling around staff from its professional office building and stopping nonessential services

St. John’s Medical Center in Jackson Hole, Wy., is bracing for the potential chaos the upcoming solar eclipse might bring, according to an article on the Jackson Hole News and Guide website.

The hospital will be shuffling around staff from its professional office building and stopping nonessential services.

The hospital started planning 12 to 18 months ago when county agencies came together for a threat, hazard and vulnerability analysis.

The anticipated large influx of eclipse fans is prompting fears of gridlock, as well as a lack of cellphone and internet service. The facility has been gradually building an emergency supplies stockpile, anticipating it won't be able to get delivery trucks in during that time.
