"HazCom for Healthcare" training DVD explains new OSHA standard

DuPont offers a training DVD to help employees in healthcare facilities better understand the new Occupational Safety and Health Administration's (OSHA) Hazard Communication standard.

DuPont offers a training DVD to help employees in healthcare facilities better understand the new Occupational Safety and Health Administration's (OSHA) Hazard Communication standard. The standard has recently been enhanced with the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS). 

“HazCom for Healthcare: A GHS Overview” will help employees understand this new standardized process of communicating chemical hazards.

Learning objectives include: 

• Defining the six classes of hazards and understanding health risks associated with each hazard
• Identifying the required components of a container label and recognizing the nine pictograms for hazard identification
• Using hazard labels in the workplace
• Understanding the different sections used on the Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and accessing SDSs in the workplace
• Knowledge of the written hazard communication plan and responsibility of the employer
