Adams Health Network is notifying some of its patients of a recent incident involving their personal information. On March 12, 2026, Adams Health Network became aware that an employee’s email account had been compromised on December 22, 2025, through what is known as a phishing attack. Adams Health Network immediately took steps to secure the account and ensure that the attacker no longer had access to it.

Through its investigation, Adams Health Network determined that the email account contained some patient information, including name, address, date of birth, Social Security number, dates of service, diagnosis, charges and/or insurance information. The attacker did not have access to the Adams Health Network electronic medical record or to any financial account information.

Adams Health Network took several steps to mitigate the impact of the incident, including but not limited to, requiring password changes for the involved employee, implementing additional security protocols organizationally to protect against future phishing attempts, and conducting additional education for all employees. Adams Health Network is now informing potentially affected patients to make them aware of the incident.

Adams Health Network does not have any evidence that the attacker was seeking patient information, and there is no indication that patient information has been or will be used inappropriately. Nonetheless, Adams Health Network wanted to make its patients aware so that they can take any steps that they feel necessary to protect their information.

Adams Health Network has reported this incident to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights, which is the federal agency that oversees the privacy and security of patient protected health information.
