Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center in California is using fax machines, paper after being hit by ransomware, according to an article on the Campus Safety website.
The computer network has been down since Feb. 12 because of the infection.
The staff is completely locked out of the hospital’s infrastructure and a hacker is demanding about $3.6 million to restore the database.
An unnamed doctor said hospital employees are currently communicating through jammed fax machines, telephones and paper, the article said.
