Sun Valley Surgery Center Suffers a Data Breach

Sun Valley Surgery Center is providing notice about an event that may have impacted some of the sensitive personal information under its purview. This notice provides details about the event, measures it has taken in response and additional steps that potentially impacted individuals can take to help protect their sensitive personal information, if they feel it is necessary to do so. 

On September 3, 2025, SVSC became aware of a potential issue involving SVSC’s information systems. It immediately took steps to secure its systems and investigate the extent of this activity.  

As part of its investigation, SVSC assessed what sensitive personal information may have been impacted in connection with the event. It determined that the sensitive personal information of certain individuals may have been affected. Such sensitive personal information may include name, contact information, date of birth, Social Security number, driver’s license or state-issued ID information, passport or other governmental ID information, and health information, which may include health history, treatment and diagnosis information, explanation of benefits, health insurance information and/or MRN number or patient identification number.  

In response to the event, SVSC contacted and worked with law enforcement and regulators. Following the event, to prevent something similar from occurring, it also implemented additional safeguards and technical security measures to further protect and monitor its systems.
